Hey girls! I don't know if any of you still read this. If you do, I want to thank all of you for coming to my graduation party and for the wonderful gifts. I will be in town June 2 & 3 but I can't do anything the evening of June 3 (it's my dad's b-day). I can't wait to hang out with you all, I miss the casual-ness.

For anyone who still reads this (other than me...)
Christopher is counting down the days to his return (God willing). If all goes well, he'll be back in the states within a month. I know he's ready, and I'm so thankful. What happens after his return is hazy, but his feet will be on Amearican soil.
As for me, I'm dealing with the pressures of school. This week we have exams and a paper due, but next week we start in the schools. I'll be teaching 3 AP Language classes for about 10 weeks. I'm excited and scared, but I'm sure it will be an experience. Now I just have to start looking for jobs... As of right now, I'm thinking M-ville, Athens, or maybe Thompson. Time will tell.
I hope all of you are doing well. I already miss the fun we had at Christmas. On the plus side, I will have my second encounter with a Wii this weekend at a superbowl/Wii party, so I'm optimistic about the fun I will have in the future!
Hugs!! -Ashley |

Sorry about the not being around so much. I really mean to. But I've been busy with work.
Luckly (or...not?) My cheap bastard of a boss has cut me back to part time. That's 2 days a week...
Part of me is genuinely happy. The other part looks at all my bills, and begins to cry.
Anyway, I hope everyone had a good Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
I know there's plans to meet at Devon's tonight--so maybe I'll see you all soon :D

Awww, I feel so bad not updating. I am glad everyone is having such a good time. Things are okay here, one of my rms is being a berk, but she graduates so only one more week left with her. In other news, I should be getting home next Sunday, the 16th I think...yup! So other than shopping for gifts I am not really doing anything. I was thinking though that maybe we could do some kind of Secret Santa or something this year, if we wanted to that is. Meet for lunch draw names then meet up again like 2 days before Christmas or something like that. Also, we need to have a party for Jessica. Let me know what everyone thinks. Hurray for updates!! |

Thanks for the update on Chris, Ashley. I'm so glad he's coming home soon, and I'm excited about seeing him!
My schedule for the holidays looks something like this: I'll be going home briefly on the 13th and returning to Athens on the 15th. On the 16th, I leave to go on a weeklong roadtrip, and I should be back in Augusta by the 23th. So, trying to do anything before Christmas is pretty much out for me, but I'd love to do something afterward. Maybe a New Year's Eve party like last year?
I hope everyone's doing okay. Aleesha, I hope your job is at least not sucking quite as much. I'll see everyone soon!

For anyone who is wondering, it seems like there's a decent chance Christopher will be home around March. I know he's ready, and I have to admit, I am too.
As for me, I'm crazy, sick of school, and ready for this holiday. I'm officially done with everything Wednesday. I'll be home the 9th, and I start working full-time the 10th.
I hope you are all having an okay beginning of Nov.

Hey guys. Sorry its been so damned long. I have no good excuse.
Jessi asked how we were doing... My reply: Work SUX! I've been assigned janatorial work--cleaning out a store room, and then, taking pictures of medical equipment to sell on Ebay.
I no longer am doing anything related to editing--the job i was HIRED to do. So. Basically, my life sux.
Oh. And need I mention that my boss has me searching for my own replacement? Yeah--sending off emails to people who've put resumes on CareerBuilder.com How much does that suck?
Anyway--that's life my way. Hope everyone else has it a little easier. AEP |

| Fall update |
|
|
| 09:59pm 24/09/2007 |

I figured i'd post a short update, even though i'm not sure anyone reads this anymore. grad school's been good so far - really not much diff. from undergrad. classes. i've also been helping out at some schools as a kind of part-time job, so b/w that, classes, and learning how to cook (i was very spoiled by the meal plan for 4 years), i've been keeping pretty busy. i'm excited about some trips i'm planning on taking before the end of the year. for fall break, i'm going to gatlinburg with some friends, and then the week before christmas we're planning on taking a road trip to dc and then new york city. we even have tickets to see the daily show! it's pretty much my dream trip come true, so i'm really hoping it doesn't snow or something that week.
aleesha and jessica, if you guys read this, if you want to go to the lake this sun. that would be cool. (hopefully not literally - haha, lame joke). that is, if something equally bizarre doesn't happen to jessica or me (i think aleesha has filled her bizarre incidents quota for a while).
how's everyone else doing?

| Summer Update |
|
|
| 08:56pm 19/07/2007 |
| |
Just got back from our family's annual weeklong vacation at the lake, which was fun as usual. I learned a lot about using the jet ski, such as how to back the trailer into the water. That just may have been the hardest thing i've done all year, and that includes student teaching. Apparently i'm jet ski backing challenged, although i think i have the hang of it now - i think. I'm hoping to go up to the lake for the afternoon sometime soon with it.
Other than the lake, my summer's been pretty good so far. I spent two weeks in Athens doing music camps at the beginning of June and then a week doing the ASU band camp (fond memories of bathroom stall doors aleesha?). During that time, i decided that i am going to grad. school after all, and i just found out officially that i've been accepted at uga for the Fall. And i even have a place to live! One of my friends in athens needed a 4th roommate for her apartment, so luckily it worked out really well. I'm excited about living on my own again. Home is not bad, it's just...well, ya know. My parents and i (esp. my mom) tend to get along better when we see less of each other.
In other news, Harry Potter on Saturday! But unfortunately, i'm gonna have to wait at least a week to start reading it b/c i'm doing a band camp all day every day this coming week. I know i could start it tomorrow night and finish it Sat., but i guess i like to spread it out over at least a few days if not a week or so. I know, sarah and devon and probably everyone else will think i'm crazy to not read it all straight thru. I'm kinda convinced that at some point b/f i'm able to start it, i'm going to find out the ending, probably from some high schoolers at the camp. Ahhh! i don't want to know the ending! What's really bad is that i could just look it up right now online and find out too.
All for now - i'll try to update sooner next time. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their summer!

I feel like communicating tonight, so I thought perhaps I'd take this opportunity to update you all on Christopher.
I talked to him yesterday night. He recently was assigned to a new job. He's now in charge of the radio for his unit. I think he'd prefer to keep his old job, but I know he'll be good in his new position. He was training for that around the time I talked to him.
Besides that, he has been looking more into furthering his education and deciding how he wants to spend his future. He has many ideas. His interests are varied, and he is ambitious. It seems very likely that he'll be career army. I think the first degree he'll pursue is history (he's already looking into books to order to begin preparing for such a degree). Time will tell...and I'm sure in time he'll decide what paths and careers he'll pursue after his inital moves.
Chris aside, I'm doing okay here. My apartment is quite nice; My parents brought me their washer/dryer (they got new ones), so I have clean clothes!! My classes aren't my favorite, but I've decided that I'm not allowed to say anything negative about them, so they're getting better. This time next year, hopefully I'll have a job that will help me pay off school. The future is full of possibilities.
Well, I just pulled a dozen hot muffins out of the oven, and they're calling my name (very seductively, I might add). Hopefully we'll talk soon, one way or another.

School sucks and I have less than no money. Can I come home...?
Sigh, I'm almost back into the swing of things. More to do than hours in the day...no income...too much sleep...no cable...too many movies...for a Libra, I have very little balance.
Other than that, life's full of promise. Heard from Chris: he's back in Iraq and seems to be doing well. He was glad to get the flights out of the way, I know. Now if he can start to narrow down what he wants to do in the future...time will tell, it always does.
For now I have more unpacking/organizing from my 5th move in 5 years...I also have reading and homework for Thursday that I'd rather not have to finish entirely the night before.
I hope you all are as well as can be...finding cars and jobs and fun things to fill your summer time.
I miss you.

SOOOOOoooo thought I'd say hello and drop in and all that.... being that I'm fighting the medication and really don't wanna go to sleep...
I've got bronchitis, strep throat, and tonsilitis...so if you don't hear from me in a while, don't think I hate you...I'm just generally dead to the world.
Took a little drive up to Tennessee recently, and it was great fun...saw my friend John, he's pretty much awesome. When I went up there, he was seriously in debt, worried that he'd have to move back...now he's got two jobs, happy because he's gonna have new friends, lala.... I'm glad for him. Chatanooga was really fun to visit, too, although I didn't do much in the way of exploring (I drove around for a day, lol) and I went to the mall twice. It was fun--a mix between Oregon's mall and ours in Augusta.
My Yaris *pets* was really awesome to drive up there in. I'm excited about going back, sometime next month probably.
Anyway, We should totally go on a road trip sometime. We can take the new cars--Devon's Prius, my Yaris, Ashley's whatever....! Yay! New cars for everyone.
*giggles*
OKay, and now I must succumb to the lure of medicinal sleep......night yall
love ya!

I graduate Sat. That much i know for sure. As for after that, who knows. I'm still looking for a job. I think i may end up in Richmond Co. despite all the warnings i've received. For the summer, i have few definite plans. I'll be here in aug. w/a lot of free time, so if anyone ever wants to do anything, just give me a call.
On a completely unrelated note, i just saw Hostel recently. I'm not into horror flicks, but i felt this was just one of those movies i had to see b/c i've heard so many people talk about it. And surprisingly, i kinda liked it. B/f watching the movie, i didn't quite understand the appeal of watching people be tortured. But actually, it was really suspenseful and well-made. And contrary to what i had thought, the entire movie was not grotesque violence - it was grotesque violence and soft-core porn. Also, the torture could have been worse. I was expecting something to happen that didn't, but the eyeball thing was pretty good. Ashley, i would love to sit thru this movie w/you. It would be hilarious!
That's all for now. Hope everyone's enjoying the beginning of summmer.
~Jessi
P.S. Sarah, as a graduation gift, in lieu of $500, i will accept that 5th universe that is rightfully mine anyway :) |

So... The semester's coming to a close ladies... I graduate at 9:00 on Saturday May the 12th... and I have 2 extra tickets (we only get six) if any of you are interested in watching me walk across that stage!
Of course, I have to GET there first, right? It's no joke. I seriosuly think the profs. are doing everything they can to keep me from walking. Papers, presentations, simulations... OMG. It's NOT worth it. I have senioritis SOOOO bad.
Also, Chris deploys on May 9th. I don't really know what to say about that now. So thats i'll i'm gonna write.
As for summer. Is anyone gonna be in Augusta? I think I'll be moving back in with the 'rents for a bit, and then either moving out with my sister, or with jeska. I'll be getting a decent job too, hopefully. Let me know, and we'll hang or something!
Later ya'll! ~AP |

Just 'cause I feel like typing, I'll update you on Christopher.
He called tonight. He sounds good. Something about guns and explosives, and I knew everything was alright. He's got a positive outlook...it's good. He's fine with the extended tour, and that's the most important thing. He's even gotten a dose of MTV. Other than that, he's still trying to decide what his future holds...thinking about taking classes, etc. He has no need to be in a hurry, so that's nice for him.
He's probably going to get some leave, so that's good as well. A nice break. He'll get to see his family. I'm glad for that.
In my life...papers...lots of them...all but one past due. I'm living one day to the next, as usual. Less than 2 weeks for me. I hope you all are doing well at whatever point you're at.
Well, off to shower and paper-write and bed. Hugs all around!

you guys were totally thinking that weren't you?
Anyway, I've been way to busy for my own good. I have like no life, well with the way things are right now, I'm actually ok with that.
First, wow, i feel like I've missed so much, I had to go back and read two months worth of entries and I feel bad for not doing this sooner. Jessica, do you think you'll be around April 7th or are you leaving before then? Please let me know. Also, which airport are you leaving from? I would like to see you before you leave since it will be a while....
Second, thanks for those updates on Chris. Glad to know he is okay. On a side note, did you guys know Jeremiah is thinking about joining the army? Thought is was wierd.
Third, graduations! Wow, so I know a lot of you are graduating and since I am assuming here that the graduation ceremony is a family thing, we could all get together and celebrate on our own. Either all together or if you guys are having your own reception type thing, either way, you all need congrats! (Sadly I still have a year left...)
Fourth, I think I'm going to be home for the summer, are any of you guys going to be around. I will most likely be going back and forth to ATL and possibly working, but other than that, whoever is around, we should definately hang out.
Well, I guess that's all about me for now. I would love to here more about you guys and possible plans after college. Let me know what's up and how things are. I promise to update/check more often now.
Miss all of you!! Should be home in a month!

So, I am on Spring Break, finally! Not that it's been too exciting so far. Tomorrow i'm going to the Par-3 Tournament, and Sat. i'm going to G-Day at UGA to see everyone i know still in Redcoats for next year. This should be fun at least.
Friday was my last day student teaching at Riverside Middle. :( I was very sad all day b/c i've grown so attached to everyone at the school. The 12 weeks i was there were amazing and i'm really going to miss it. Monday i start at Martinez Elem. for 3 weeks, and then i'm finished! I graduate on May 12th. I can't believe it's almost over! I'll be really happy on May 12th, and then the next day i'll be like, "crap, now what am i supposed to do." I've been searching for a job for next year. I've been offered one that i didn't take (at Louisville Middle School, which is about an hour south of here in the middle of nowhere), so hopefully that won't come back to haunt me. There's a position opening at Lakeside Middle next year, but the chances of me getting that as a first year teacher, even w/all my so-called connections in the area, are slim. I try not to worry about it too much though and just take one day at a time.
Who all is graduating this year? I know it sounds bad that i don't know for sure. I feel like i've been kinda outa-the-loop w/everyone b/c we've all been so busy. Now that i have some time to rest, i'm realizing how much i miss everyone. What would you guys think of taking a short (week or so) road trip right after we graduate? I would love to do something like that. Let me know what you think. I hope to hear from everyone soon, and good luck w/the rest of the semester. :)
